Who We Are
Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the site or mobile app, missingno.run may process the following categories of data:
- Account and authentication data, such as email address, display name, provider account identifiers, sessions, API tokens and Compete nickname.
- Tournament and Compete data, such as registrations, check-ins, team submissions, public team sheets, pairings, standings, match results, match rooms, judge calls and organizer or staff actions.
- User-generated content, such as tournament chat, match chat, organizer profile content, uploaded organizer or tournament logos, names and nicknames.
- Device and notification data, such as installation ID, device name, platform, app version, permission status, Expo push token, Android FCM token and iOS push or Live Activity tokens where supported.
- Settings and preferences, such as favorites, tracked player settings, theme preferences and local mobile app settings.
- Search and usage requests, such as player search, rental team search, local event filters and tournament browsing requests.
- Operational data needed to provide the service. missingno.run does not intentionally use analytics or crash reporting, but tournament results and chats are stored as part of the service.
How We Use Data
- To provide account sign-in, authentication and mobile access to your missingno.run account.
- To operate tournaments, registrations, check-ins, pairings, standings, match rooms, judge calls, result reporting and organizer tools.
- To show public or participant-visible tournament records according to tournament settings and event state.
- To send push notifications, Live Activity updates and device-specific event information where you enable those features.
- To provide support, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, enforce organizer/admin permissions and protect tournament integrity.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to deletion, privacy or security requests.
Public Tournament Records
Some tournament information is intended to become part of a public or participant-visible event record. This can include nicknames or display names used at the time of the tournament, pairings, standings, match results, usage stats and public team sheets where tournament rules or settings allow them.
If you delete your account, account, login and device data can be deleted or anonymized. Historical tournament nickname or display-name snapshots and completed event records may remain where needed to preserve pairings, standings, match results, public team sheets, moderation records, dispute handling, abuse prevention or archive integrity.
Third-Party Services
missingno.run uses third-party services to provide authentication, hosting, storage and notifications. Current or planned services include:
- Google, Apple, Discord and Twitch for account authentication, depending on which providers are enabled and which login method you choose.
- Hetzner server infrastructure for hosting, database, tournament data and uploaded images.
- Namecheap for email hosting or forwarding for support and privacy requests.
- Expo/EAS for mobile app build and notification-related workflows.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push notifications.
- Apple Push Notification service for iOS push notifications and Live Activities.
Retention and Deletion
Account profile data, authentication links, sessions, device records, push tokens, favorites, tracked player settings and private account preferences are kept while your account is active or until you remove them. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize these account-related records where feasible.
Completed tournament records may be retained for as long as the tournament archive exists. This is necessary because removing individual entries from completed tournaments can break pairings, standings, match results, usage statistics, public team sheets, chats and event history. The nickname or display-name snapshot used in a completed tournament may therefore remain even after account deletion.
A normalized Play nickname reservation is retained without the deleted account link so that a previously claimed nickname cannot be reassigned to another account.
To delete your account or request deletion help, see Account and Data Deletion.
Security
- Production traffic is expected to use HTTPS.
- Mobile auth tokens and local identifiers are stored through platform secure storage where available.
- missingno.run does not currently store user passwords; supported OAuth providers handle sign-in.
- Organizer, staff and admin features are permission-gated.
- Backups are currently created manually and irregularly by the operator, and are retained until they are replaced or deleted.
Children
missingno.run is not directed to children. The app is intended for competitive gaming and tournament users.
